How to make a perfect cuppa tea – The traditional way

From its early history in the east, tea has become one of the world’s ubiquitous drinks. Tea drinking in one form or another is part of the diverse cultures of many lands.
Being the second largest producer of tea in the world, Indians drink traditional Masala cuppa tea by the absolute bucket load.
In India, Masala means spice and Chai means tea. Spiced tea.
That is exactly what Masala cuppa chai is – a strong black tea infused with spices such as cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger, etc., typically served with milk and sugar.
There are mainly four components in Masala Cuppa tea and the secret of making thick and whole favourable cuppa is to find perfect balance between them.
(NOTE: We already have spices mixed in our Masala cuppa chai. If you are using other black tea, you will need to add spices separately.)
STEP-1
In a saucepan or a small pan with a handle, heat 1 cups water (250 ml).
STEP-2
Let the water come to a boil and add 2 teaspoons of Oxtea’s Masala cuppa chai. Boil for a minute. This boiling time depends on how strong you want your tea. If you prefer a strong intense tea, then simmer for a few more minutes.
STEP-3
Add ¼ cup milk. Add more milk if required. Once milk starts boiling, turn the flame to simmer.
STEP-4
Add 1 Tbsp of sugar. Boil on medium flame for 3-5 minutes or until tea is reduced to desired consistency. (If you like masala cuppa strong and thick then you can boil it for 5-7 minutes.)
STEP-5
Switch the flame off once done. Pour the tea through a tea strainer directly in the cup.
